Andrew Hogan’s website on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

I am Andrew Hogan — barrister, author and speaker. For nearly thirty years I have practised at the English Bar, principally in the fields of costs, litigation funding and civil procedure. This site is the companion to my book, Andrew and the Marvellous Analytical Engine, and to my broader work explaining artificial intelligence to lawyers and other professionals who need to understand it without the noise. Artificial intelligence is the most significant technological development of this generation. It is already reshaping how legal and professional work is done, how information is produced and tested, and how judgment is exercised. Most of what has been written about it is either too technical, too breathless, or too vague to be useful. This site is an attempt to do better.

Andrew and the Marvellous Analytical Engine is a practical guide to artificial intelligence for lawyers and other thoughtful professionals. Written in plain English, it explains what AI is, why it matters, where it goes wrong, and how it should be used with judgment rather than awe.

I speak to law firms, chambers, insurers, regulators, professional bodies and business audiences about artificial intelligence, the legal profession, and the changing shape of professional work. Keynote engagements from £5,000 plus VAT.
